Rain delays Hi-Tide’s unveiling of new music
Inclement weather delayed the full album launch but did not deter music lovers from attending the party, hosted by Caymanian musical duo Hi-Tide, at Tiki Beach on Friday, 16 September.
The event, which marked the group’s ninth studio album, saw a number of notable local musicians, as well as family, friends and well-wishers come out to show their support and appreciation for a group that many will agree is one of the most successful and talented combinations the Islands have seen thus far.
Shane Allenger and Sean Hennings have spent the last 16 years putting together a combination of sounds and tunes that have no doubt earned them the respect of their peers, as well as music critics near and far.
Three of their original songs from previous projects – That’s What I’d Do, In Your Kiss and Open Invitation – have made the international charts. The group’s cover of Bob Marley’s Waiting In Vain was released in Italy on a compilation CD, and one of their most popular original songs, Love You More, has been licensed in England to be played in thousands of stores throughout Europe.
Their latest album, Hi-Tide 4, a collection of 15 original tracks was to be the crowning event of the evening last Friday night. However, due to inclement weather, the launch was postponed to a date to be announced.
